The Caribbean Hotel Association is relaunching its Web site to give up-to-date information on all of its 34 member destinations and 1,100 member hotels.
Due to go live next week, it will provide links to member hotels’ own Web sites and the Caribbean Tourism Organisation’s own Internet pages.
CHA Web consultant Richard Holm said: “We aim to be a one-stop shop for the whole of the Caribbean. It will be dynamic and interactive and will offer links to member sites so that there will be no duplication of information.”
Part of the site will be dedicated to agents who can access information on special offers, rates and selling tips. In its second development phase, users will also be able to make virtual hotel tours.
Where individual hotel sites allow users to book on-line, the CHA denies that it is bypassing agents by giving the public direct access from its site to those that allow bookings. “The public can make on-line bookings with or without us. We have strong links with agents and offer good incentives,” said Holm.
