Travel 2 adds soft adventure options in 200 Ways brochure

TRAVEL 2 has added extra walking and cycling options to its New Zealand programme to cater for growing demand for soft-adventure add-ons.

New product in the company’s 200 Ways brochure includes a five-day trek along the country’s most famous walking route, the Milford Track.

The walk takes clients 33 miles through the valleys and forests of the Fiordland National Park.

They stay in lodge-style accommodation en route.

Prices start at £514 per person, based on two sharing, and include transfers from Queenstown and all meals.

A second option is the company’s five-day West Coast Cycling Adventure.

The trip follows a route from Queenstown to Christchurch on quiet roads through the rainforest.

Highlights include trips to the Fox and Franz Josef Glaciers.

The trip leads in at £395 per person and includes accommodation, all meals, cycle hire and a rail journey through the Southern Alps on the TrazAlpine train.

Travel 2 product manager Andrea Robinson said: “New Zealand is closely identified with the outdoors.

“We’re finding that increasing numbers of clients want to take advantage of the many opportunities to get out in the open air.

“Activity-based products are not only popular with younger visitors, older clients are also keen to enjoy the country’s spectacular walks,” said Robinson.
