RYANAIR has seen its profits after tax increase by 35% from
£13 million to £17.6 million for the quarter ending December 31 2001.
The rise comes despite the downturn in air travel following the
September 11 terrorist attacks in the US.
Total revenues were up 18% for the same period last year from
£70.2 million to £82.2 million. Passenger numbers also increased from 2.1
million in 2000 to 2.7 million.
Ryanair chief executive Michael O’Leary said: “These are a
very strong set of results which underline the resilience of Ryanair’s unique
low-fares model.”
