LONDON Travel Service is planning to become one of the first operators to organise group tours around the Houses of Parliament.
Director of consumer marketing Richard Ashton said the operator had held talks with members of the House after hearing it was considering allowing organised trips from this summer.
“If this happens, we will be one of the first operators to offer such tours,” he added.
At present, only private tours of the House are allowed on permission of MPs, and numbers are restricted to 120,000 visitors a year.
Ashton said he was hoping permission for the group tours would be granted in time for them to be included in the second edition of the operator’s brochure, due out shortly.
