ncl fleet to grow

THE Norwegian Cruise Line fleet is set to be expanded
following the acquisition of two vessels by parent company Star Cruises.

Two vessels are under construction in the US. The first, which
will have the capacity to carry 2,000 guests, will go into service in summer
2004.

The ship will serve NCL’s Freestyle Cruising market. NCL is
to wait until the first ship has been completed before deciding exactly what to
do with it.

NCL president and chief executive officer Colin Veitch said:
“This acquisition was prompted by the success of Freestyle Cruising, the
tremendous reception we had to Norwegian Sun and Star, and the need to add new
ships as soon as possible after the delivery of Norwegian Dawn, our last
scheduled build, in December 2002.”
