Cosmos terms get rewrite

By Juliet Dennis

COSMOS is to reprint the booking conditions in the
back of its brochures in response to action from the Office of Fair Trading.

The OFT deemed 12 of Cosmos’ existing terms breached
the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations 1999 or the Package Travel,
Package Holiday and Package Tours Regulations 1992.

Key changes that Cosmos will implement in its next
brochure print run include providing compensation to all customers for flight
delays, not just those who booked insurance through the company.

Cosmos will also start sending customers a reminder to
pay their outstanding balance, rather than just cancelling the booking without
notification.
