Old-timer gets in a twist over dance holiday

THOMSON Holidays had to face the music after a confusing mix up involving various styles of dancing, Backchat has learned.

Following a complaint from a Young at Heart customer, The Advertising Standards Authority rapped Thomson for trying to pass line dancing off as ballroom dancing at a hotel where sequence dancing also took place.

A heady mixture indeed.

The customer had booked the holiday on the basis that they were promised anopportunity to trip the light fantastic.

Under the section heading ‘The Dancing Specialists’, the Venus Hotel in the Costa Blanca was said to hold sequence and ballroom dancing three evenings and two afternoons a week with visits from dance leaders.

Much to the client’s chagrin they found themselves hoe-downing as opposed to waltzing around the room.

It seems like themarket leader was leading the customer a merry dance, if you ask us.
