ON-LINE ski operator Iglu.com has linked up with Internet service provider WorldOnline to provide late deals for the winter ski season on the Web.
The partnership means Iglu.com, which launched last year, will have access to WorldOnline’s 1m subscribers and enhance the probability of it reaching its target of over 10,000 on-line bookings over the next two years. Similarly WorldOnline subscribers will benefit from Iglu’s extensive ski inventory which includes details of over 12,000 chalets and apartments.
Both companies will invest in a joint advertising campaign to begin later this year.
The deal coincides with the completion of Iglu.com’s revised site which includes new itineraries for the 1999/2000 ski season and improved graphics.
The site features Webcams and real-time 3-D moving maps of European resorts so users can see up-to-the-minute snow conditions and view properties.
There is also a demonstration area on the site to enable people to try the booking service before committing a deposit.
The deal will see Iglu.com featured on WorldOnline’s home page regularly during the season, providing content such as skiing tips, news on equipment and special offers, plus details of competitions.
Former Thomson Holidays managing director Charles Newbold is chairman of the company.
