Go criticised for ATOL decision

Go has been criticised for insisting that agents who sell tickets under its new on-line scheme have an Air Travel Organiser’s Licence.

The low-cost airline announced last week that it would allow agents to make £5 commission on return saver fares and £8 on return flexible tickets (Travel Weekly November 29).

But ARTAC Worldchoice general manager Chris Fife said: “We have 20 members out of 700 who have got an ATOL, which makes the whole scheme pointless.”

Go said it is adhering to Civil Aviation Authority rules which require agents to have an ATOLto sell air tickets.

But the airline said it would make concessions to agents who do not have ATOLs but who invoice clients after they have flown.
