FIRST Choice was this week poised to announce its second franchise after scrapping a deal with Travelplan.
Retail managing director Cheryl Powell refused to reveal the name of the franchisee.
She claimed it would be a “big announcement” and could not reveal the company name as staff were not being told until Thursday.
The news follows First Choice’s decision to pull out of a franchisee deal with Travelplan. It claims to have pulled the plug because the agency wanted to expand into regions First Choice already has shops.
Powell denied axing Travelplan as a franchisee was connected to a financial wrangle the agency had with its former consortium Worldchoice.
Existing franchisee Just Go is in the process of having its shops re-branded.
