First Choice slashes prices for January – 19 Dec 2006

First Choice Holidays is launching considerable price cuts for the January peak selling season but has refused to reveal further details of its post-Christmas campaign.

Following what has been described as the worst summer in 30 years, and amid fears the January 2007 market will be even more cut-throat as customers continue to book later, the operator has remained tight-lipped on revealing specific details of its advertising plans for the peak season, traditionally the busiest time of year for bookings.

A spokeswoman said: “We’ve decided not to reveal information early this year; we’re being commercially senstitive about this. We’ll be doing marketing in January but what the details are, we can’t really say.

“However, we have revealed price cuts which happen every January and it is no different for next year.”

Discounts include £1 places for children on selected long haul packages while there are also free child places on short haul routes.

Any bookings from a brochure worth more than £999 will receive a £100 discount while short haul prices have been slashed and now lead in at £145 for a week’s self catering accommodation in Menorca.

Long haul deals include prices from £849 per person for two weeks all-inclusive accommodation in the Dominican Republic and £859 for the same deal in Cuba. Both offers are compatible with the £1 children offers.
