Advantage targets homes in New Year push – 21 Dec 2006

Travel agency consortium Advantage is sending out 700,000 direct mail flyers as part of its New Year marketing campaign.

For each of the 112 members signed up to take part, flyers will be sent to 6,000 homes of local customers..

The direct mail push will feature holidays from tour operators including Balkan Holidays, Holiday Extras, Kuoni, Premier Holidays, Thomas Cook and Virgin Holidays and will include prices from each travel agent’s local airport..

All leisure agent members will be sent an ‘aspirational’ window banner..

Members can also download posters from the consortium’s intranet, highlighting offers, low deposits and children’s places..

Advantage sales and marketing director Colin O’Neill said: “The New Year period is a key sales period for our travel agents so it’s imperative we match the aggressive marketing tactics carried out by our competitors.

“It’s crucial to provide our members with an excellent marketing platform from which they can boost their January bookings.”.
