Norwegian Cruise Line has launched its first UK television advertising campaign in conjunction with Thomas Cook and Thomson.
The ads, that promote NCL’s Freestyle Cruising product highlighting its informal non-traditional feel, went live on January 15 on Thomas Cook TV and Thomson TV.
NCL introduced a new brand identity to the UK at the launch of new ship Norwegian Pearl in December with the image of the rebellious fish swimming against the tide of the conventional cruise experience.
UK general manager Francis Riley said: “I am delighted to be working with two of our key travel partners on this ad, which will introduce NCL Freestyle Cruising to a new and wider market.”
Meanwhile, NCL has announced new flights from Aberdeen and Glasgow to Barcelona after agreeing a deal with Flyglobespan enabling customers to fly direct without having to transit through a London airport. Direct flights to Vancouver from Glasgow are also now available for Alaska cruises.
In a collaboration with the NOAA Pacific Islands Fisheries Science Center, a release of 45 hand-reared Hawaiian green turtles took place off cruise ship Pride of Hawaii last week.
Riley said NCL was committed to sustaining the environment and providing support for organisations working to protect natural habitats throughout the world.
