The Air Charter Service has seen a boost in private jet bookings for this weekend‘s Rugby World Cup final in Paris following the announcement of a transport strike, which is likely to disrupt Eurostar services.
The strike is planned for 24 hours on Thursday but is expected to continue into Friday, causing chaos for England fans travelling to Paris for Saturday’s Rugby World Cup final.
ACS said it is answering nearly double the usual number of telephone enquiries and took eight bookings for private charters from London to Paris on Tuesday morning alone.
ACS senior passenger charter manager Gavin Copus said: “Private jets are the only feasible option for anyone wishing to get to the England match on Saturday in Paris. Eurostar is full and most scheduled flights sold out weeks ago.”
Travel from London to Paris on a private jet for 10 to 12 people costs from £1,000 per person.
