SuperClubs set to increase Caribbean resorts

SuperClubs will increase the number of its Caribbean resorts from 15 to 20 in the next two years. The latest of the group’s resorts to open is the 225-room, $45m Hedonism 111, which opened in Jamaica’s Runaway Bay last month.

The group has also announced plans for a Lido property in St Kitts in two years’ time, possibly followed by a middle-market Breezes hotel.

SuperClubs executive vice-president Joe Issa said the group is to target the UK and Europe more over the next few years. The UK’s regional office is to move from Somerset to Kingston, Surrey, as part of a strategy to double its business out of the UK and Europe.

Sales and marketing vice-president Paul Verhaak said: “Eighty per cent of my clients are in the London and southeast area.

“It’s also easier to access the airports so that I can get over to see our offices in Europe,” he added.
