Cruise and Maritime Voyages announces Harwich and Cork departures

Departures from Harwich and Cork are being introduced next year by Cruise and Maritime Voyages.

The line is also increasing the number of sailings available to families with children from two this year to eight in 2018.

The 1,400-passenger ship Columbus, which joins the fleet this June, will sail from London Tilbury throughout 2018, while 550-passenger Astoria is set to return due to popular demand.

Nine British departure ports are featured in 2018 with fares starting at £379 per person for a six-night European cities cruise.

A summer 2018 preview programme goes on sale tomorrow (Wednesday) – earlier than previous years – covering 100 itineraries with two for the price of one cruises available for bookings made by May 31.

The company’s ninth year of operation will see 150 cabins set aside on Columbus and Magellan for single travellers with a 25% supplement on the twin share price.

Commerial director, Chris Coates, said: “Our aim is to reward early bookers so we have issued a preview brochure much earlier.

“Since adding Magellan and Columbus to the fleet we have increased the number of passengers travelling with us. They in turn re-book and recommend the traditional British cruise experience to their relatives and friends.

“The new programme is predominantly with no flying involved. Many more people are wishing to cruise from closer to home rather than waste a day out and back at crowded airports.

“The new CMV brochure makes the decision easy with a choice of nine UK departure ports.”
