Foreign Office confirms tourists missing in China earthquake

The Foreign Office has confirmed to travelweekly.co.uk that there are missing British tourists in the earthquake struck area of China.

The government department also revealed  there are no reports of any injuries or casualties of British tourists but confirmed it is working closely with  holiday company Kuoni who has a group of missing holidaymakers in the region. It would not confirm the number of tourists missing.


The earthquake which hit the south-western Sichuan Province has killed at least 10,000 people and left thousands trapped.


A phone number for concerned relatives has been released by the Foreign office.  Anyone concerned is asked to call 86 10 5192 4499.
