A record month for tourism to Cyprus was recorded in April.
UK travellers to the island rose by 16.3% to help the country achieve the most successful April on record in terms of global tourist arrivals.
Overall arrivals to Cyprus rose by 26.9% year-on-year to reach 286,331.
This is the highest volume of inbound tourist numbers to Cyprus ever recorded during the month of April, which this year coincided with the Easter holiday period.
The UK and Russia were the main sources for tourism, making up 37.1% and 16.4% of total arrivals respectively.
Cyprus Tourism Organisation UK director, Orestis Rossides, said: “This year, we’re seeing record numbers of tourists attracted by Cyprus’ year-round sunshine, beautiful scenery, legendary hospitality and range of activities from cycling, scuba diving, trekking and golf to world-class spas.
“We’re looking forward to a successful summer season to cement 2017 as a record-breaking year for Cyprus.”
