Agencies in Merseyside have pledged to sell customers flights from Liverpool ahead of rival airports.
Hays, Tui, Myriad Travel, Crowne Travel and Pearl King Travel are among the agencies to sign up to the ‘We sell Liverpool Airport 1st’ campaign.
Liverpool John Lennon Airport has asked travel agents in its region to promote the value or flying from LJLA ahead of other options, claiming it is more convenient for local holidaymakers.
The airport is plugging its on-site car parking, average five-minute security queue times, departure punctuality and baggage collection times as reasons to fly from LJLA.
More than £5 million has been spent on of passenger facility improvements at the airport, which claims positive passenger feedback is currently at an all-time high.
Ashley Morgan, LJLA’s account manager, who works closely with local travel agents, said: “We already receive tremendous support from many local travel agents and this latest campaign is aimed at reminding others of the range of benefits for their customers when they book flights and holidays for them from Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
“We firmly believe that by demonstrating this loyalty and supporting their local airport, more airlines and tour operators will choose to increase the number of departures from Liverpool in the months and years ahead.”
