GBTA sees turnover increase by 8% to hit £7.56bn figure


MEMBERS of the Guild of Business Travel Agents achieved a combined turnover last year of £7.56bn, an increase of 8% on 1997 figures.



The amounts are based on an analysis of returns from the GBTA’s 41 member agencies.



GBTAchairman Don Lunn said:”These figures show that business travel agents are in even greater demand from business travel buyers.”



GBTA members Britannic Travel and The Travel Company have signed a number of new accounts. Britannic’s new signings include the £750,000 account of Lamb Technicon, part of the Unova Group, while The Travel Company has signed finance company Singapore EDB and communications group ACI.



n The Guild of Business Travel Agents will hold its annual Hotel Champion of the Year event on November 22 at the Four Seasons Hotel in London. The award for Champion of the Year will be made by GBTAchairman Don Lunn.
