The Australian Tourist Commission has reported a 63% increase in bookings to the destination after hosting last year’s ABTAConvention.
A survey of the delegates also found 83% of agents took a pre- or post-ABTA tour. Some 96% said they are now more confident about selling the destination and 75% said they sold Australian product either ‘all the time’ or ‘regularly’.
In Queensland where the convention was held, 81% ofrespondents said the Australian state met or exceeded theirexpectations with 55% of those undertaking pre- or post-ABTA tours exploring other areas outside of Cairns, the ABTAvenue.
