Since its launch in 2014, Bourne Community Champions has rewarded and provided practical support for a host of travel agencies that give back to their local communities.

And as we celebrate the competition’s fifth anniversary, Travel Weekly is proud to partner once again with Bourne Leisure to launch the search for our 2018 winner.

Bourne Community Champions was founded to help those agents and agencies up and down the country who do so much positive work in their home towns and regions.

Over the years, the competition has provided hands-on and financial support for charitable projects including the creation of sensory rooms and gardens, the revitalisation of a community park and the revamp of an Age UK office.

How Bourne Leisure gives back

Haven
Haven is proud to announce its brand new national charity partnership with the RNLI, the charity that saves lives at seas, for 2018. With 36 coastal holiday parks, this is close to the hearts of Haven’s owners, holidaymakers and team. Haven also supports local charities, bringing a real sense of community to the parks. Previous national charity partners include Children in Need, which received a donation of £55,292 from Haven in 2017.

Butlin’s
Butlin’s continues to support Great Ormond Street Hospital in 2018, having raised more than £450,000 in the past three years. The relationship with Great Ormond Street started in 1938, when Butlin’s day visitors were charged a shilling to enter, with all money going to the hospital. In 1965 The Variety Club, sponsored by Sir Billy Butlin, donated a hydrotherapy pool to the hospital. In 1977, Sir Billy donated funds to purchase the UK’s first paediatric scanner at Great Ormond Street Hospital. Butlin’s said it was delighted to continue Sir Billy Butlin’s legacy and have the opportunity to put a modern spin on an incredible tradition.

Warner Leisure Hotels
Warner Leisure Hotels announced Macmillan Cancer Support as its new charity partner last year, with the goal of raising £500,000 for the charity. Warner will be encouraging year-round engagement from its 3,000 team members – based across 13 UK sites – who they hope will enjoy competing and getting involved in fundraising initiatives for the charity. Warner will also be creating opportunities for guests to get involved and feel part of the brand’s commitment to Macmillan. The £500,000 target will fund 25,000 hours of Macmillan professionals’ support, enabling the charity to directly help more than 1,500 people affected by cancer.
