Jet2.com has added a new ski route to Turin and increased capacity by 90,000 seats from Stansted airport.
Just over a year after it started flights from the London airport – the airline’s most southernly base – it is expanding by adding 40,000 new winter seats and 50,000 for summer 2018, taking the number of flights per week during the peak holiday season past 300.
The expansion means a tenth aircraft will be based at Stansted from July, where it now flies from to 33 sun and city destinations and 26 winter destinations.
Extra summer 2018 capacity from Stansted will be offered to the following destinations:
- Lanzarote – the introduction of Monday services means six weekly flights
- Tenerife – now eight weekly services thanks to the addition of a second Friday flight
- Majorca – an additional Thursday service means up to 13 flights every week
- Menorca – the addition of a second Saturday service means six flights every week
- Reus – a new Thursday service means five weekly flights
- Faro – now eight weekly services thanks to the addition of a second Saturday service

Its weekly Saturday flight to Turin leads the line up of extra seats from Stansted for winter 2018/19, with additional capacity to the following destinations:
- Madeira – addition of a third weekly service, meaning three services all-year round
- Canary Islands – extra services to Canaries at Christmas – with 12 additional flights in total to Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura

Jet2.com has flown more than one million customers to and from its newest base, since flights started in March 2017 with six aircraft.
Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: “Just last week we announced how successful our first year at London Stansted has been, and we are delighted to be building on that with more good news today. The addition of a tenth based aircraft at London Stansted means we are creating even more new jobs in the local area, and are adding more choice, including the launch of a fantastic new ski route to Turin. Since we launched in the South of England, we have been constantly adding more choice for holidaymakers with our award-winning airline and tour operator, and that is down to the continued demand that we have seen from customers.”
