need to register for a user name and password. They can then change rates, booking restrictions and room inventory, as well as view property information, receive reservation notifications and download management reports.
One-day training courses were held last week for about 100 hoteliers from the UK and 400 from the rest of Europe , and “refresher courses” on using the system, which is live now, will also be made available as it becomes established.
A spokeswoman said NetRez will eventually replace LinkPlus, a computer-based link currently used by member hoteliers to access the Unison CRS.
She added: “LinkPlus will not go instantly as there are still hotel members out there who are not on the Internet and we will continue to support them.”
l Rezsolutions said it expects 10% of its reservations to come via the Internet by the end of 2000. Web bookings now account for 3% of its business.
REZSOLUTIONS has developed an Internet-based management system that enables hoteliers to change inventory and room rates over the Web.
Called NetRez, it is a feature of the company’s Unison central reservation system and means hoteliers can change rates at the touch of a button from any computer with the Windows operating system.
Managing director Europe Heather Blaseby said NetRez allows hoteliers to update all points of distribution, whether global distribution system, CRS or Internet-based.
“This means that if, for example, on Tuesday an inventory manager realises that the hotel is undersold for Friday night, he or she can make immediate changes via NetRez to generate business, allowing hotels greater control over their short-term yield,” he added.
Changes are made instantly and the new rates are immediately available for booking.
To use NetRez, managers need to register for a user name and password. They can then change rates, booking restrictions and room inventory, as well as view property information, receive reservation notifications and download management reports.
