ITC Travel Group shakes up sales team to increase awareness of brands

The ITC Travel Group has restructured its agency sales division and is rolling out a virtual reward card across all its brands for the first time to “shine a light” across its portfolio.

The company, which includes the Inspiring Travel Company and Western & Oriental brands, has split its sales team into two divisions; beach and tailormade; and specialist holidays.

It hopes the move will give its specialist brands – Regent, Rainbow Tours and ITC Sports – a higher profile as it looks to grow sales across the board by 10% over the next year.

As well as more events, including business owner dinners and ‘meet the team’, a loyalty card called Love2shop Engage will launch in July across all its brands. The virtual card will allow agents to earn up to £500 per booking to use in shop vouchers or concert tickets.

As part of the shake-up, its sales managers for the north, southwest and southeast of England have been replaced by two national sales managers.

The change sees the departure of Sue Coupland, sales manager, southeast. Jon Hardcastle, former northern sales manager, becomes national sales manager of the specialist division, and Elaine Jones, previously southwest sales manager, becomes national sales manager for its Inspiring Travel Company division.

Kym O’Brien, previously telephone account manager, has been appointed to the new role of business development manager to support the national sales managers.

Agency sales director, Lee Marshall, whose remit has increased in the new role of agency sales director, said: “The biggest single opportunity for us is to increase awareness of our specialist portfolio. The truth is we have a treasury of product we have not talked about.

“We needed to modernise the structure of the agency sales team to be more performance focused. Sue leaves with our best wishes; it was her choice to leave after three and a half years.”
