Clare Tobin is to take over responsibility for the long haul brands within TUI UK’s specialist division from Ian Simkins in a management restructure.
Simkins will carry on as managing director of the UK and Ireland specialist division and Tobin will report into him.
The move also puts its Travelmood, Austravel and Trips Worldwide longhaul brands under a 30-day review to “consider what type of model will provide the best opportunity for growth, given current market conditions.”
Tobin will now head up all longhaul brands in the division. She is currently managing director for Thomson Worldwide, Haye & Jarvis, Jetsave, Flexiflights and Meon in the specialist division.
She will be tasked with growing sales in the portfolio following the recent integration of Travelmood, Austravel and Trips Worldwide in the business. In an internal memo to staff, Simkins said: “Clare will take over from me immediately and she will be starting a 30 day review within Travelmood, Austravel & Trips. This will give Clare time to review the business models currently in place.”
The memo also revealed that Travelmood commercial director Chris Lee will leave the business at the end of next month and that Hayley Smith, commercial and product director for Meon Villas, will switch to work on TUI’s central team tasked with exploring opportunities in the Russia market.
Meanwile, Meon will now report into Enrico di San Marzano, who heads up Sovereign and Citalia.
