Specialist Leisure Group has appointed dnata Travel’s finance director B2B Europe Paul Smith as chief financial officer.
The appointment follows the current chief finance officer, Gary Speakman taking on the role of chief operating officer at the operator formerly known as Shearings Leisure Group.
Reporting directly to Specialist Leisure Group’s chief executive Richard Calvert, Smith will take up the role at the beginning of October.
He joins from dnata Travel where he was finance director B2B Europe.
During his career, Smith has held senior roles at Airtours, Cooperative Travel and Gold Medal including the position of interim chief executive at Gold Medal/Travel 2.
Calvert said: “I am delighted to have someone of Paul’s ability and track record joining us.
“Our rigorous recruitment process clearly identified Paul as the stand out candidate and I’m positive that he will prove to be a great asset and cultural fit within the SLG family as we continue our exciting journey.”
Smith added: “I feel privileged to be joining Specialist Leisure Group, a company with so much heritage and diversity and I look forward to working closely with Richard, Gary and the team.”
