Corfu Thomas Cook trial adjourned until after Easter

The trial of two Thomas Cook reps and nine Greeks over the death of two children in Corfu has been adjourned until April 21.

Proceedings were started again for just one day today with three local witnesses taking the stand – a plumber, architect and a maintenance contractor.

But it will be more than a month before the court hears more evidence in what has been a start-stop trial since it began in early February.

The reps, Richard Carson and Nicola Gibson, and their co-defendants face charges of manslaughter by negligence following the deaths of Christianne Shepherd, seven, and her six-year-old brother Robert from carbon monoxide poisoning in an apartment at the Louis Corcyra Beach Hotel in October 2006.
