Abta publishes second Travelife Collection of hotels

Abta has published the second edition of its Travelife Collection of properties that meet environmental and corporate social responsibility standards.

The collection includes nearly 200 hotels which have signed up to the Travelife programme and have undergone either a full or self audit on their performance.

Properties are graded Bronze, Silver or Gold depending on the standards they have achieved in areas such as energy use, employment records, chemical use and community relations.

Nikki White, head of destinations and sustainability at Abta, said: “By booking a Travelife property, people who want to continue to go to the destinations they love with tour operators they trust can now do so with the knowledge that these companies are doing as much as they can to protect their local environment and support their local communities.

“Booking a hotel participating in the Travelife programme is one of the easiest ways to get a greener holiday.” Travelife properties appear in operators’ brochures with their Bronze, Silver or Gold logos.
