Disney reveals name of new cruise ship

The first of the three ships ordered by Disney Cruise Line is to be named Disney Wish.

The vessel is due to be delivered in late 2021 and will set sail in January 2022.

The line is also creating a new private island in Eleuthera in The Bahamas called Lighthouse Point.

Details remain sketchy but the company said: “Disney Cruise Line guests can also look forward to a signature island experience that celebrates nature and the spirit and culture of The Bahamas at a new Disney port of call.”

The disclosures are part of a series of expansion plans unveiled across Disney theme parks and resorts including transformation of Epcot and Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Avengers Campus being introduced at both Disneyland Resort in California and Disneyland Paris from next year.

A new Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel is to open at Disneyland Paris with themed suites featuring super-heroes such as Spider-Man.

A new digital planning option called Disney Genie will be introduced next year for holidaymakers planning trips to Walt Disney World Resort.
