Video: Hayes & Jarvis and Citalia turn to TV advertising ahead of peaks

Travelopia brands Hayes & Jarvis and Citalia will run national TV ads during the turn-of-year for the first time.

Hayes & Jarvis’ ad will feature a voiceover from journalist and broadcaster Mariella Frostrup and the tagline: ‘extraordinary travels, tailored for you’.

Oversized H and J letters spell out words such as ‘hypnotic’, ‘jaw-dropping’, ‘hand-picked’ and ‘just for you’ against images of six destinations – Africa, Asia, India, Indian Ocean, South America and the US and Canada.

The Citalia advert features a new tag line: ‘feel like a Citalian’ and shows customers discovering the ‘real Italy’ through experiences such as making pasta.

Both ads will air on Boxing Day. Hayes & Jarvis will appear on 10 channels including Channel 4, ITV 3 and 4 and Sky News, while Citalia with air on More 4 and ITV 3.

A digital advertising campaign encompassing YouTube, email marketing and social media will run alongside the TV adverts.

A sale will run throughout the peak booking period across all Travelopia’s brands including £150 discount for twin and multi centre bookings with Hayes & Jarvis; free first class rail for twin and multicolored bookings with Citalia; a free excursion for bookings over 10 nights with Austravel; and £150 discount for all new bookings of minimum seven nights with Sovereign.

A series of trade incentives will also be available to agents. Every booking over the value of £5,000 between December 26 and January 31 will receive a £10 Love2shop voucher.

Agents can also win prizes including a Fit Bit, Mulberry purse, Echo Dot, Sony Bluetooth headphones, and £100 Love 2 Shop voucher between January 1 to February 1.

Winners will be drawn at random each day of the campaign and announced on a daily basis on the Travelopia for Agents Facebook page.
