The Caribbean Tourism Organisation has launched an online campaign to encourage the UK trade to engage with consumers on planning a Caribbean holiday for when travel restrictions are lifted.
The #CaribbeanDreaming promotion began on April 8 and was due to run for eight weeks, until June 1, across the CTO website and social media channels on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Caribbean hotels, tour operators and other suppliers were also invited to participate using the hashtag and contribute to the videos and blog posts on the CTO website.

Colin Pegler, chairman of the Caribbean Tourism Organisation UK Chapter, said in a statement: “As we navigate through this time, we have all had to make changes we could never have anticipated at the beginning of the year.
“We are all looking forward to being able to move freely and travel again and #CaribbeanDreaming offers us an opportunity to lift spirits and help travellers plan their next holiday, when the time is right.”
The promotion also includes the opportunity to win a different luxury holiday each fortnight until June, starting with a seven-night stay for two at Blue Waters Hotel in Antigua, along with a host of other prizes and special offers.
Caribbean resort operator Sandals has also released a number of deals for travel in 2021 and 2022, with discounts for bookings made before May 13 of up to £200 on Luxury rooms, £400 on Club rooms, and £600 on Butler room bookings, with a deposit of £175 per person.
The Jamaica-based hotel brand brought out its own social media promotion, #SandalsStateofMind, on its Selling Sandals trade Facebook page, offering a series of short video snapshots of life in the resorts.
Karl Thompson, managing director of Sandals’ UK representative Unique Vacations UK, said: “The campaign aims to bring a little bit of Sandals and Beaches resorts to the homes of our guests and travel partners, as well as reminding them, that when the time comes to travel again, we’ll be waiting with welcoming arms.”
