Balkan monitors summer departures while cancelling May holidays

Balkan Holidays is monitoring the impact of the coronavirus crisis on summer departures while confirming the cancellation of all May breaks and flights.

The operator said it had made the “difficult decision” to cancel next month’s trips due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation.

The UK continues to advise against all non-essential travel worldwide for an indefinite period due to border closures and other restrictions.

Balkan Holidays is to contact people due to travel in May with options including re-booking to a later date.

The operator also pledged to be in touch with agents with further information.

“For client departing at later summer 2020 dates, we continue to monitor the situation and will provide updates when available,” the company said.

Customers were urged not to contact the call centre unless “absolutely necessary” as staff are “extremely busy”.
