Cottage rentals arm created as sister site to LateRooms.com

LateCottages.com has been created as a late-booking sister site to LateRooms.com to capitalise on the post-lockdown staycation boom.

More than 100,000 properties in the UK and Ireland are available, with exclusive discounts available via a free membership, according to parent company Rest Easy Group.

More than 30,000 hotel rooms were booked through the LateRooms site in July and similar numbers are expected for LateCottages.com with the surge in self-catering stays following the easing of lockdown rules.

Users who become members gain access to discounts averaging £30 per break.

Rest Easy Group originally launched Snaptrip in 2014 as a marketplace for last minute cottage holidays deals in the UK.

It has since expanded to include Snaptrip, LateRooms, Last Minute Cottages, Big Cottages, Dog Friendly Cottages, iKnow, Villa Holidays and now LateCottages.

LateCottages chief executive and co-founder Matt Fox said: “It’s an exciting opportunity right now since growing demand from customers exploring staycations in rural destinations requires more choice and value.

“Facilities such as private hot-tubs, pools, enclosed spaces and the option of cooking a meal rather than going out have driven much of the change in customer behaviour, and the range of accommodation we offer caters to a huge range of preferences and needs which are not otherwise met through other sites.

“We’ve partnered with the UK’s leading self-catered accommodation providers to create a marketplace that offers the widest possible choice of professionally managed cottages on one site.”
