Jet2holidays has returned to charging travel agents fees to amend bookings, saying a waiver was being ‘abused’ by the trade.
Change fees had been waived during the Covid-19 crisis as agents battled to rebook customers whose holidays had been cancelled.
In a communication to travel agents, Jet2holidays said: “We wish to advise that from Thursday 03 September 2020 standard T&C’s and amendment fees will be applied to trade bookings where the date, destination or the accommodation is changed within 70 days of departure, regardless if the new booking is more expensive.
“Unfortunately we have had to introduce this due to the scale of abuse with the current Trade Amendment Policy.”
The operator said its online amendment form is still available to use when making a full date or destination change to a booking and is offering telephone-based amendments for the trade when dates remain the same.
