Brit holidaymaker found dead in Goa

A UK holidaymaker has been found dead in an apartment in the Indian destination of Goa.

John David Tagg, 36, was discovered on Monday at the flat in Siolim village, about 15 km from Panaji, the capital of the Indian state.

He is reported to have been celebrating Christmas and New Year with a friend from the United Arab Emirates.

An official said: “They had come to Goa on the year end. The post-mortem of the deceased will make the cause of death clear.” A Foreign & Commonwealth Office spokesman told the Daily Mail: “We can confirm the death of a British national on January 2 in Goa, India.

“We are providing consular assistance to the family at this difficult time.”
