Wizz Air suspends flights as countries ban Brits

Wizz Air has suspended flights from the UK to Italy, Romania, Bulgaria, Latvia, Lithuania and Austria today and tomorrow (December 21-22) following coronavirus travel bans by those countries.

Wizz Air will continue to operate flights from the UK to countries which have not imposed a ban on the arrival of UK flights and is closely monitoring developments in case of the need for further cancellations.

Affected passengers who booked on wizzair.com or the airline’s mobile app will be informed via email and offered the options of receiving 120% of the original fare in airline credit, a full refund or rebooking for free.

The airline said that passengers who booked via travel agencies or online travel platforms should contact the seller of the tickets for further information and refund options.

Countries across Europe and further afield have imposed bans on UK travellers because of a new, faster-spreading strain of coronavirus.
