Charitable Travel recruits head of partnerships

‘Travel-for-good’ agency Charitable Travel has appointed Alison Nicholls to the role of head of partnerships.

She was previously with NBC Universal for more than eight years as senior business development manager.

Before that, she held a partnerships role at British Airways, managing new route launches and leisure marketing campaigns.

Nicholls previously worked with Charitable Travel chief executive and founder Melissa Tilling in 2002 when they were both at AsiaWorld.

In her new role, Nicholls will reinforce existing partnerships and develop new relationships with tourism offices, tour operators, hotels, airlines, and cruise lines to help Charitable Travel’s mission to raise money for good causes.

Tilling said: “Ali’s experience, relationships and professionalism are a perfect fit to enable us to develop partnerships.

“We aim, as a team, to create the maximum amount of charity donation value from marketing campaigns in the coming months and years.

“Ali shares my love of our social purpose to support great causes.”

Nicholls added: “I am staggered by what Melissa and the Charitable Travel team have achieved already, in what will be forever in our memories as the most challenging year the industry has ever encountered.

“Travel will bounce back. At Charitable Travel we will be conversing with consumers and highlighting their ability to give back by booking their trips.”

Founded in May by former Funway Holidays managing director, Melissa Tilling, Charitable Travel is a member of The Travel Network Group.

The leisure travel retailer is a registered social enterprise with fundraising central to its business model. All profits generated will go to good causes.
