Air France-KLM sells half of Amadeus stake

Air France-KLM has netted €473.3 million with the sale of a 14.1% shareholding in Amadeus.

Air France, one of the founding airlines of Amadeus, still controls 7.73% of the company, a similar stake to that held by Lufthansa and Iberia.

All three carriers have agreed not to sell any additional shares in Amadeus for the next 90 days.

The buyers were a mix of existing and new investors “which would indicate a level of confidence in [Amadeus] business,” a banker involved in the transaction reportedly said. Most of the money came from the UK and US.
