Steel cut on new cruise ship Carnival Celebration

Carnival Cruise Line has held the steel-cutting ceremony for new ship Carnival Celebration .

Excel-class vessel Carnival Celebration – a sister ship to the soon-to-launch Mardi Gras – will debut in PortMiami in November 2022, the year Carnival celebrates 50 years of operations.

Both Celebration and Mardi Gras will feature a rollercoaster called Bolt. Carnival Celebration will offer year-round sailings from Carnival’s own cruise terminal in PortMiami.

The line’s senior vice president of new builds Ben Clement attended the event, at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland, alongside the shipyard’s chief executive Tim Meyer (see picture).

Carnival Cruise Line president Christine Duffy said: “The steel-cutting ceremony marks the beginning of yet another exciting chapter for Carnival Cruise Line.
