A group of hotels in Mexico and the Caribbean will offer UK holidaymakers “free and affordable” on-site Covid-19 tests.
RCD Hotels, which runs Hard Rock properties, reacted to UK government rules for travellers to provide a negative Covid test result prior to boarding international flights back to the UK from Monday.
UK guests with existing bookings or those making new reservations of three or more nights at five all-inclusive Hard Rock Hotels in Mexico and the Caribbean, UNICO 20˚87˚Riviera Maya and Nobu Hotel Los Cabos will receive two free antigen tests per room.
Additional antigen tests can be purchased for $50 or $99 for a PCR test.
The testing deal is available for holidays booked by February 28 for stays until the end of the year or until the government mandate is lifted.
PCR and antigen tests provided are in line with the UK government sensitivity and specificity guidelines, according to RCD.
Hotel concierge teams will assist guests with scheduling tests.
UK sales director Janice Adey said: “We are pleased to be able to introduce our new free and discounted onsite Covid-19 tests in an effort to remain true to our commitment of providing a seamless and safe travel experience for all of our UK guests.”
