Las Vegas has emerged as the top destination for UK athletes following the London Olympic Games.
Spain comes in second followed by Australia, Greece and Thailand in joint third place – preferred destinations for sunshine, beaches, sports activities, great food and culture.
Nearly a third of athletes (28%) are planning a trip to the US with Las Vegas and Orlando among the top cities.
13% of athletes plan a break to mainland Spain and its islands, with Ibiza topping the list.
Other top destinations include the Maldives and France.
The results come from a poll by Olympics official airline partner British Airways which asked a number of Team GB and ParalympicsGB athletes about their holiday plans post-September.
BA UK and Ireland head of sales and marketing Richard Tams said: “We’ve seen a slight increase in late summer bookings this year, due to many holidaymakers staying at home to support our athletes during the London 2012 Games. The good news is that there are still lots of late bargains to be had.”
