The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) will run adverts promoting its Pack Peace of Mind consumer campaign in national newspapers tomorrow (Saturday).
The Atol-promoting adverts will appear in The Mail, The Sun, The Daily Mirror, the Daily Record in Scotland and the Daily Express.
The quarter-page adverts in the newspapers’ travel sections will be the first to appear in print as part of the CAA campaign launched on Boxing Day.
A CAA spokesman said: “This is a big booking weekend. Many people receive their January salary around this time and book at the end of the month.”
Newspapers will run one of two adverts under the slogan “Pack peace of mind”, telling consumers: “We all look forward to our holiday. The last thing you want is to lose your money or be stranded… With Atol, you won’t.”
The CAA recently announced it had tripled its budget for the campaign to more than £600,000.
Further newspaper adverts are likely to appear, on a smaller scale, in February and around Easter. The campaign up to now has run mostly online.
The spokesman said: “We have more money. We want to spend it wisely.”
