Year-round flights between Glasgow and Shannon are being introduced by Flybe this summer.
The regional airline will run three flights a week on the route from May 1, with fares starting at £36.99 one way including taxes and charges.
Departures will be on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, bringing the carrier’s network up to nine routes from the Scottish airport.
The service is expected to be popular with travellers visiting Ireland this year to take part in the country’s ‘Year of Welcome’, known as ‘The Gathering’.
Flybe marketing director Simon Lilley said the airline was committed to developing its route network from Glasgow.
“We have every confidence that this additional new service will prove successful in offering an attractive and affordable way for travellers to access this growing business and leisure destination that is widely regarded as the west of Ireland’s premier gateway,” he said.
