ITT gets back to grassroots

AT LAST the Institute of Travel and Tourism has realised that not all members wish to spend over £90 per person of their hard-earned cash to attend an evening meal in London.

Congratulations to them on the recently announced regional overnight event in Newcastle.

I have been a critic of those overpriced ‘sponsored’ events for some years, therefore it is only fair to redress the situation. Now they have offered welcome drinks, dinner, entertainment, dancing, accommodation and a buffet breakfast for £35.

Unfortunately I am overseas on April 7 but I wish the organisers good luck and thank the ‘new brooms’ at ITTfor at last listening to grassroots members.

Though I realise the prestigious events are a good source of income for ITT funds, I look forward to enjoying more of these alternative, economical members’ events in the future.
