EasyJet passenger numbers rise 4%

EasyJet passenger carryings in August rose by 3.9% to more than 6.1 million.

The budget airline’s load factor was up by 1.1 percentage point to 92.8% over the same peak summer month last year.

Annual carryings for the year to August rose by 4.1% to almost 60.5 million, the airline announced this morning.

Meanwhile, British Airways and Iberia owner International Airlines Group said premium traffic for August increased by 2.4% compared to the previous year, on falling capacity.

Overall traffic was up by 10.6% year on year.
