n haven appoints new marketing director



Holiday park operator Haven has appointed Tim Gibson as its newmarketing and salesdirector. Gibson, who starts on September 1, iscurrently head of marketing for the Harvester restaurant brand. He replaces Martin Dalgleish, who left to joinshopping chain Dixons. Meanwhile, Rank Holidays is offering travel agents £2 for every holiday booked at a Butlins resort or Haven holiday resort in the UK starting between July 20 and September 2.



n ATCtailors web site to nationality needs



The Australian Tourist Commission has updated its Web site so that access is tailored to different nationalities, including Britons. When UK users enter their country andlanguage on the site they will be given localinformation, such as the latest travel offersavailable. The address is www.australia.com



n pan am bids to restart services



PanAm has asked the US Department ofTransportation forpermission to restart scheduled services on August 24. Flights would be on the Portsmouth, NewHampshire-Chicago-Orlando route. The airline, which launched charter services last summer, then intends to offer direct Portsmouth-Orlando-San Juan flights by September. Pan Am claims to have $7.7m to invest in services, possibly including long-haul flights.



n Airtours set to rebrand UK airline



Airtours is expected to rebrand its UK airline,Airtours International, to Premiair, its Scandinavian-based carrier. Group finance director Tim Bryne said the current branding was too restrictive as the airline’s customers included many from recently acquired companies.
