Three Virgin Holidays directors to leave

Three Virgin Holidays directors are to leave the business in the autumn.

Chris Roe (pictured), ecommerce and specialist business director, Wayne Perks, product and commercial director, and Susan Forde, strategy director, are all leaving.

The news comes after managing director Mark Anderson, who took up the role in May, implemented a new leadership structure for the business.

A Virgin spokesman said the three people departing will be working on internal projects until the autumn.

He addedsaid: “We can confirm that Virgin Holidays’ managing director Mark Anderson has implemented a new leadership structure, designed to establish the foundations for future growth.

“As a result of that, Chris Roe, Wayne Perks and Susan Forde have taken the decision to leave the business in the autumn to pursue new opportunities.

“There are still some vacancies to fill on the leadership board which we will be dealing with in the coming weeks.

“They will not be like for like replacements for the people departing. Mark [Anderson], has identified and recognised different areas of responsibility and some of these are the ones we are now recruiting for.”

Anderson replaced Amanda Wills as managing director. Following his appointment, Anderson told Travel Weekly his first priority was to spend time listening to his own staff and suppliers, adding that he believed there were key opportunities to work with trade partners that hadn’t previously been developed.
