Malta appoints new chief of tourism authority

Paul Bugeja has been named as the new CEO of The Malta Tourism Authority.

He succeeds outgoing CEO Josef Formosa Gauci from September 16.

Bugeja is former president of the Malta Horeks and Restaurants Association and worked for the Corinthia Group for 35 years.

He said: “I now look forward to a new chapter in my life and will be dedicating all my energy and experience acquired in the private industry in search of opportunities that may already exist or will be created in the future to improve the tourism sector, a sector which we all agree is crucial to our Maltese Islands.”
