Airline and Eurostar services to Brussels have been cancelled today (Monday) due to a national strike in Belgium.
The channel tunnel passenger rail service will only be able to operate to and from Lille in France due to the industrial action.
Eurostar said: “Due to the scale of the strike we expect no trains or other public transport to run in Belgium.
“Eurostar are unable to provide any alternative method of transport between Brussels and Lille and we strongly advise our passengers not to travel.”
The company is offering refunds and free of charge booking changes.
Ryanair also grounded more than 100 flights from across Europe and warned that the national strike may also affect aircraft overflying Belgium
“We expect further flight delays and cancellations later on the day,” the low cost carrier said.
British Airways cancelled all flights to Brussels and warned of “significant disruption” at the Belgian capital’s airport as a result of the strike action across the country.
An extra flight was added from Brussels to Heathrow on Sunday evening.
The airline also plan to deploy larger aircraft on Tuesday to help re-book passengers disrupted by the industrial action.
